The Alberta Section has officially decided to offer scholarships in the form of bursaries to both NAIT and SAIT, starting this 2017/2018 academic season. We have been discussing the subject of offering local section scholarships for some time now, but this year we have finally finalized our first ones.
The bursaries will be in the amount of $1000 to the qualifying students, one student per school. The bursaries will be still be based on the students academic grade score, but will also be based on a financial need component. These bursaries will be available to any first year NAIT or SAIT students enrolled in a tribology related field and will be based on their first semester of their program. The hope is that these scholarships will be the first of many to come, and that NAIT and SAIT will only be the first of the many educational institutions we will support.
